A few other things I’m working on …
Toastmasters just started recognizing clubs that hold their meetings online, rather than at a physical location. This one is targeted at people working to develop professional online presentation skills for webinars and other forms of online meetings and events.
Demonstration meetings start January 23, and we hope to recruit enough people to charter in March.
Gaining confidence as a speaker allows you to speak effectively in front of larger audiences. Why not a global audience? Products like YouTube Live and Facebook Live that are free to try make it relatively simple to create a webcast or live Internet video broadcast. The size of your audience is limited only by the interest you can generate. But do you know how to adapt skills you learned behind a lectern to webcasting and live video?
The first installment of our series of features on online presentation skills features, Jim and Chris Guld, whose business Geeks on Tour offers technology tutorials for travelers. They find customers for their core subscription-based business partly by traveling the country in their RV, giving educational seminars at RV meets. But the other way they find their audience is with a weekly live Internet TV show.
When not on the road, they make their home base in Ft. Lauderdale and are members of Early Bird Toastmasters.
In our webinar, we will ask ask what they have learned about effective Internet video and have them demonstrate how to give a good tutorial in this medium.
Learn Professional Online Presentation Skills with Roger Courville (District 47 Educational Webinar)
While much about giving a presentation online is the same as speaking in person, communicating through a webcast or any other form of online meeting is also different because of the nature of the medium.
The second in our series of webinars exploring online presentation skills features Roger Courville, who has been called “the Michael Jordan of online presentations and virtual classes” and “the ultimate content marketing weapon.”
Most of the time, though, he’s a just an exceedingly normal guy who speaks, trains, consults, and writes about psychosocial effectiveness when communicating via web/audio/video conferencing (e.g., webinars/web seminars, virtual presentations, webcasts, virtual classrooms).
A veteran of the conferencing industry (since the modem days of 1999), Roger has taught tens of thousands people worldwide, and he’s reached tens of thousands more with writing appearances, interviews, and while sitting in airports. See his full bio at the website of his company, EventBuilder.
In this webinar about webinars, Roger will share some of what he has learned and demonstrate a few essential techniques.
