At about this time every year, I try to stir up some interest in the WordPress for Toastmasters project with incoming officers and Toastmasters leaders who might consider making a change.
If you’re a member of the official Toastmasters Facebook group, consider giving a like or a comment to this post about the value you see in the software. Or forward this email to someone who might be interested.
WordPress for Toastmasters is a volunteer, pro bono project that gets no financial or logistical support from Toastmasters International (although I’ve worked with staff on branding approval and the legalities of offering an web-based member application form). The information they publish on how to establish a club website is several years old and only covers generic WordPress installs.
That means most Toastmasters leaders who are founding or sponsoring new clubs or wanting to reinvigorate the marketing of an existing one will not know the WordPress for Toastmasters tools are available to them. They won’t know unless you tell them. Then they can make their own judgement about whether it makes sense for them.
Pass it on, thanks.
